Congratulations to the finalists in the Texas 10 Under 20 Rising Star Showcase. Finalists will be competing at  the Finals for the Grand Prize!

 



Artist: Emily Elbert

Emily Elbert is a 17-year old singer/songwriter who blends a hip musical perspective with her in-depth knowledge of classic favorites to create unique vocal and guitar arrangements. She combines the sounds of jazz, folk, soul, world music, country, blues, and pop into her own distinctive style. A third-generation professional musician, Emily sings classical music in Coppell High School’s national award-winning madrigal choir, varsity women’s choir, and a cappella choir. She performs for her church, teaches guitar lessons, serves as camp counselor, music leader, and plays at coffee houses, benefits, and shows. Emily plans to major in music and is working to earn a scholarship to study contemporary music, vocal performance, and songwriting.

Artist: Katie Wallace

Only 15, Katie Wallace's musical talent can only be described as extraordinary. Born May 9, 1990, Katie was performing for family and friends by the age of three. By seven, she was performing with her father, Bobby, on guitar in front of schools, congressmen, and East Texas locals. With her original song, All Over Again, Katie achieved a semi-finalist spot in the children's competition of Showtime At The Apollo. Since then, Katie has went on to write and perform new material with her father. She attributes her success to musically gifted parents whose love and support challenge her to pursue her dream of song writing and performing music.

Artist: Kacey Musgraves

Kacey is a 17 year old singer, songwriter and musician from a small town in East Texas. She got her start singing western music and was the youngest person ever to be awarded "Yodeler of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artists. Some of her performances include the 2001 Black Tie & Boots Presidential Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C., as well as appearing on the TODAY SHOW during the 2002 Winter Olympics in Utah. Kacey was the youngest entertainer ever to have her own show at the 2003 Walnut Valley Music Festival in Winnfield, Kansas. She opened for country artist Miranda Lambert in 2005.

Artist: Lauren Alexander

No Stranger to the stage she is Absolutely AMAZING , with some 200 venues in the past 24 months, This Country Artist takes her music to you. with the poise and presence of someone well beyond her years. A guitarist and songwriter she has been featured on ABC, CBS and NBC, Lauren says “there are so many artists these days that make a record and hope it gets heard, I believe that you have to take your music to the people”Lauren has had a full time band since the age of 11 a has seen hundreds of venues.

When a high school student sings, writes, and plays guitar in a way that has industry insiders begging to hear more, she is worth listening to. Those who do will quickly understand why Maren Morris has been garnering praise from critics in not just one, but several musical genres.
